Pretty in Pink

It finally feels like spring and boy, am I happy about it! Since tomorrow happens to be the first day of spring, it's time to get the pinks and florals out of the closet. This outfit was partially inspired by the London scented candle I bought at Bath and Body Works, don't ask. We did take these pictures at the park and it was loads of fun. Yes I do have green paint on my arm, it was St. Patrick's Day and I have art class. I hope you enjoy!

This shirt I bought last week at Forever 21 and I already love it. It has sheer type of fabric in the front but the back is cotton, which makes it very soft. Plus, it's the perfect spring color! The kimono I've had for a while but it is from JC Penney and its so cute. It has multi-colored flowers on and it screams spring time. This necklace is the same one from my very first post. The blue LOVE bracelet is from Aeropostale and the Blessed one was a gift. These rings are part of a set I just bought from Charming Charlies. Wearing rings has really become a big trend lately and I have no trouble getting on board. A good turquoise ring would go great with this too.

All About Flannels

This flannel is the most AMAZING flannel ever!! It's so soft and the perfect fit. The shirt underneath is a tank top with lace details around the top. Both are from American Eagle. The pants are from Hollister and the shoes are the same ones from the last post. If you don't have purple shoes, this would also look good with black or brown boots too. And if it looks like I'm freezing that's because it was snow/raining the day we took these pictures. Do it for the blog!

The classic red and gray flannel is a ride or die in my closet. This one is from, you guessed it, Forever 21. The shirt underneath is short-sleeved with a lace back; it' from Aeropostale. The grays in these shirts go very well together, which is why it works. These combat boots are from Maurices and I wear them all the time. They are very comfortable and they have some studs on the heel. The jeans are the same as the others.

The sass IS real! I saw this shirt at Aeropostale and I just couldn't not buy it. I wore this outfit with the flannel and just tied it around the waist because I got warm. Surprisingly, it worked. This flannel is from American Eagle as well. Both of these are the "boyfriend flannels." You can't tell but the necklace is a little purple owl, and it's from Forever 21. These jeans are a medium wash, super skinny from Hollister. The boots are the same ones from the last post.

Something a Little Dressy

This blue jean dress can be worn with anything and it's SO comfortable. Now the necklace is one I borrowed from my mom, but I didn't love how it look. It did come from Forever 21, and yes, I did get my mom into shopping there. I know I have a problem and it just got worse because I bought some more stuff last week.
This dress is from Cato and the belt came with it. Belts worn the right way can be very flattering. Most people think the hips are the "natural waist" but that's actually the widest part of your body. This belt sits higher, so it makes you look slimmer. I know, I know, I don't need any help in the slimmer department. This red lace cardigan is so amazing! The sleeves widen out at the bottom and they have really tiny pom-pom fringe on them, as does the very bottom hem. I wore it the other day with a short sleeved shirt and some black skinny jeans.
THESE SHOES!!! I found these for a steal on the Designer Shoe Warehouse website! The description says they're burgundy but they look more purple than anything. They are so comfortable. The only complaint I have with them is they are difficult to tie and the tongues don't stay in place. The laces are very long and they have a place in the back the hide the extra. The boots aren't a leather, they're more of a velvet kind of thing. Sorry if that makes no sense. If you don't have purple shoes, you can also wear them with black or brown. Brown would probably go better with the belt.
This watch is the product of a 8 month search for the perfect floral face. My best friend's sister had one that was so pretty and just absolutely perfect. One day, walking through JC Penney, it jumped out at me. Huge bonus, it was on sale! Plus it's neutral colors, so it goes with everything. The wristband buckles in the back, like most watches do. The BLESSED bracelet is the same one from the last post. I still wear it everyday.

Non-Fashion Related Ramble

I would like to start this little post by saying thanks to all of you who read my blog. I would also like to ask that you keep it up because I really appreciate it! Now on to the reason for this non-fashion related, Wednesday post.
First on the list, I would love for you guys to leave suggestions on this post of things you would like to see in the future. Next, I'm going to try and post every Saturday, simply because that's the easiest for my schedule. Third, I would love your feedback on posts, so don't hesitate to leave a comment. If you want to know when I upload my posts, you can follow me on twitter (@emilyghutson). You can also use this to get me your suggestions. Plus every once in a while I actually tweet something funny, but it's rare.
I was sitting in the living room the other day and my dad asked me why I wanted to start a blog. This got me thinking that maybe you all would like to know a bit of backstory on me. If there's anything you would want to know, you can leave me some questions in the comments and I'll try to answer all of them or if you just need some advice on life. If you all want some posts about makeup or more about life in general, I can do that too. My best friend is the bomb at makeup and her obsession has rubbed off on me. This is the same friend that takes all the pictures for my blog and spellchecks/proofreads all my posts because I'm a horrible speller. I can't assure you that posts with advice will help because I'm still figuring out life, but aren't we all?
I would also like to point out that I get a lot of inspiration from other people. I watch a lot of YouTube videos and read people's blogs. Some of these include: Tanya Burr, Zoella, and Jaclyn Hill. I also get like 85% of my clothes at Forever 21. They are usually very affordable but things go quick, believe me. I lost out a great handbag this week. *insert sad face here* My of the jeans that I buy are from Hollister and I always buy them on sale because otherwise the price is crazy.
Well now that I've thoroughly gotten off topic, I think it's time to wrap it up. I want to encourage you to leave some suggestions or questions or both, whatever you feel. I want to say thanks again and thanks in advance for the suggestions. And if you ever have any questions about styling a certain piece, I will try my best to answer them. My fashion philosophy is if you like it, wear it, who cares what anyone else thinks!
Love Emily
